The Christchurch Pistol Club engages in a variety of exciting and competitive target shooting disciplines, and we are pleased to welcome you to our range.
The first step towards becoming a member is attendance at one of our regular induction courses; this opens the door to progression to a probationary club membership where you will receive ongoing guidance and training from experienced members of our club. Covering safe gun handling and use, and the types of shooting activities available as well as tuition on training milestones along the way.
Induction Courses are normally held every 2 months depending on interest. Attendance is mandatory before you can apply for probationary membership, simply complete the application form below get the ball rolling, please note a valid Firearms Licence is required.
The induction course is designed to give you an overview and introduction to the club, pistol shooting in general and will start with an indoors session in our onsite clubrooms covering the clubs history and shooting disciplines, the membership process and the process of obtaining a Pistol Target Shooting Endorsement to your existing firearms licence.
Once your classroom session has finished, you will be taken on a range tour to see the various shooting disciplines in action. Section Directors from each discipline will explain what they do and will be able to answer any questions you may have. You will then get to experience some practical live shooting under direct supervision from our experienced range officers.

Target Pistol Shooting is a VERY safe sport, more than any other sport involving firearms. The Christchurch Pistol Club has never had an accident involving a firearm and we don’t intend to start now. Safety is paramount and ALL shooting is done under the immediate supervision of a trained range officer.
Step 1 – Complete Registration Form
To register your interest for the next available Induction Course, please complete the form below. You must have a firearms license to attend and your details must match those on your FAL.
Inductions are held every 2 months and early registration is recommended. Please check out our Event Calendar for the next available course.
Step 2 – Pay the Course Fee
Once we have submitted your application, you will be sent an invoice for payment along with details on the time and date of the next course.
